The Ranger is TBH's most reliable free damage dealer. It doesn't have the Hunter's elemental burst or the Sorcerer's AoE devastation — but it never stops shooting, and those arrows add up. Attack Speed is the Ranger's god stat: it scales multiplicatively with Rapid Fire, crit chance, and everything else the Ranger does. A well-built Ranger turns into a machine gun that fills the screen with damage numbers. The tradeoff is fragility — 60 base HP means the Ranger needs the Knight to tank and the Priest to heal.

Active Skills Priority

SkillPriorityWhat It Does
Rapid Fire⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Dramatically increases attack speed for a duration. The Ranger's signature skill and highest DPS multiplier. Max this first. With high base Attack Speed, Rapid Fire turns the Ranger into a damage hose.
Arrow Rain⭐⭐⭐⭐AoE damage against dense mob waves. One point is enough for wave clearing. More points if you want it as a secondary damage source.
Piercing Arrow⭐⭐⭐⭐Single-target burst that penetrates through enemies. Excellent for boss stages where you need to burn down a single target. Max after Rapid Fire.
Swift Surge⭐⭐⭐Movement and attack speed buff. Good utility for repositioning and extra DPS uptime. One to three points is enough.
Scatter Shot⭐⭐Cone AoE in front of the Ranger. Decent for wave clearing but Arrow Rain covers this role better. Optional.
Skewer Shot⭐⭐High single-target damage with armor penetration. Situational — good against high-armor bosses. Max last.

Passive Skill Priority

PriorityPassiveMax LevelWhy
1Attack Speed8The Ranger's core stat. Faster attacks = more Rapid Fire procs = more crits = more kills. Scales multiplicatively with everything.
2Critical Chance8With high Attack Speed, you roll crit checks constantly. Higher crit chance compounds exponentially.
3Critical Damage8150% base Crit Damage is the highest among free classes. Stacking more crit damage multiplies your total DPS.
4Projectile Damage5Directly increases all bow attack damage. Additive with Attack Damage but a separate multiplier pool.
5Attack Damage8Flat damage increase. Important but less impactful than speed and crit because it's additive with gear stats.
6Dodge Chance5Survivability option. Invest after all offensive passives are maxed.
Breakpoint to know: At 25% Crit Chance with 150% Crit Damage and Rapid Fire active, roughly one in four arrows crits for 1.5× damage. At 40% Crit Chance (achievable with gear), the Ranger crits almost every other attack. This is where the Ranger's damage becomes genuinely scary.

Best Party Combinations for Ranger

  • Knight + Priest + Ranger — The classic. Tank keeps Ranger safe, Priest buffs attack by 90%. Ranger unloads from the backline.
  • Knight + Ranger + Sorcerer — Double DPS. Ranger handles single-target, Sorcerer clears waves. Needs well-geared Knight to survive without heals.
  • Priest + Ranger + Sorcerer — No tank, maximum damage. Only viable with micromanagement. High risk.
